![]() Something else i missed was to play against and with higher skill people and watch how they play, thats how i grew quite fast from bronze to gold to plat within a season or two, but rocket league has a quite extensive learning curved. ![]() I saw an earlier comment talk about squishy muffins and his commentaries and such, i learned a lot by watching his mechanics. Another way i really learned how to play this game is by watching the best of the best play, this gave me an example of what certain mechanics were supposed to look like. More often then not it works effectively but there are always unexpected hits, etc that you cant really expect. My team rotates the way cloud 9 does normally with squishy and gimmick up front normally with torment in the back. The people i play with have very similar play styles, they are very aggressive, and can double commit at times but because i know this about them i can rotate accordingly, each time i see then both up i know to stay back and wait till i either hear then call I’m going back or i see them rotating out of the play. Its a pretty simple concept when its written on paper but when it comes to the game it can be challenging at times especially when playing with randoms. So you will need to learn it while playing. Rotations is a big part of the game, and theres no training pack for that skill. This will make it so you have a little bit of muscle memory with that mechanic so it can be aerials, dribbling, air dribbles, ceiling shots, etc. Im at about 1244 hours played rn some trading and training packs but a majority playing, im hitting my limit rn as a player at around c2 div 3 - div 4, my best suggestion is to find something mechanically you want to do and take an hour practicing it in a training pack or free play. This is so deep and thank you guys for answering what I thought was a stupid noob question. ![]() In Rocket League it seems like something new is being discovered every day, and there's literally only two-ish ways to play. ![]() The skill cap must be so high because there's only ~two-ish ways you can play, unlike Overwatch, TF2, etc where there are so many different ways to play like Genji, Diva, maybe throw some battle medic in there, and like so much more than that and the skill cap is lower because there are so many different things to do and play that sometime, someone is going to figure out absolutely everything. This is way deeper than I ever would have thought. Discuss it in the comments i guessĮDIT: Wow. My question is: How long does it take? Hundreds, maybe thousands of hours to just get the SIMPLE MECHANICS right? Jeez. I see all these people turning themselves in the air and flipping and dodging at the right times and hitting the ball and then the other team planned ahead and put a goalie so the goalie hits the ball back into the first team's goal and then another guy comes and saves it right before it goes in the goal. ![]()
